Julie Kitzenberger - Photography
When a National Geographic photographer asked to review Julie’s images of a recent bike tour through the Canadian Rockies and then told her to take a black-and-white photography class and get a job with a local newspaper, Julie’s life pivoted.
Five years and multiple photography classes and workshops later, Julie has positioned herself locally as an emerging fine art landscape, travel and event photographer.
Applying talents, experience and learnings from writing, acting, and music, Julie is exploring through photography her desire to capture the moment, recreate the experience, tell the story. Julie believes the tired and overused vacation phrase, “Wish you were here,” has only become so because it still expresses one of the most fundamental human desires: to share a peak experience or moment with someone who couldn’t be there.
From a technical standpoint, Julie invites viewers to identify which of her images have been created with film versus digital capture and then challenges them to explain why that matters to the success of an image.
A Campbell resident and Bay Area native, Julie is a member of ASMP, the Campbell Artists Guild, the Los Gatos-Saratoga Camera Club, and a proud new member of the Aegis Gallery in Saratoga.
Julie already offers a unique and compelling portfolio of images for fine art, stock, corporate, and personal use. She is available for custom coverage of travel tours, local events, and environmental portraiture.
