Mehul - Abstract Art On Canvas

I was born in India, where my obsession with paintings evolved at a very early age.  My art is abstract; considered apart from concrete existence.

Abstract art, to me, is essentially pure and autonomous, in which there are remarkable and infinite possibilities of providing the definition of its ingredients, and structure.

My paintings are seemingly non-objective, with abstract shapes which are juxtaposed and layered.  My inspiration flows from the elements: earth, wood and metal. My fascination revolves around the fact that we humans have a remarkable tendency to make a connection with someone or our inner selves, based on the elements.

A significant aspect of my work is in the journey. My objective is to enable the subtle presence of the elements of representational art -- color, form, composition, texture and perspective. The paintings themselves make an overwhelming attempt to recursively comprehend the true presence and significance of the elements and their forms.

I have defined and developed a new mixed media series, a composition involving a rustic rendezvous of canvas, acrylics and metal.  This series is an outcome of my ever-increasing effort to draw inspiration from the incredible presence of the combination of earth and metal.
My paintings are predominantly worked in acrylics, with a profusion of earth tones.  Only the finest quality acrylics are used in these paintings. I use canvasses which are double primed with acid free gesso, and mounted on  gallery profile stretcher frames.
